Job Description

Job Purpose:

As a System Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our IT infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our systems. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

This position can also be done remotely.

Main Responsibilities:

Support large environments of Windows & Linux servers and technologies: troubleshooting, proactive management, security management, backups, daily operation and optimization.

Implement security measures to protect system data, networks, and information.

Conduct regular system updates and patches to enhance performance and security.

Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement system enhancements and upgrades.

Manage and monitor backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery capabilities.

Responsible for resolving infrastructure break/fix issues and enhancements in a timely manner.

Participate in on-call rotation for addressing system emergencies outside of regular business hours.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation.

Liaise with third-party partners/vendors for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

5+ years hands-on technical experience in troubleshooting network and hardware issues.

Application support experience with Windows and/or Linux based systems.

Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.

Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python and Powershell

Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V etc.).

Experience with managing Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud). 

Experience with Kubernetes cluster management and deployment.

Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Highly self-motivated and directed.

Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze complex issues in a distributed system.

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications (Cisco, CompTIA, Microsoft, Linux, Kubernetes, VMware and Cloud certifications) are a plus
